Construction is underway all over NoMa as the area quickly transforms from an abandoned industrial warehouse district to an all-new mixed-use neighborhood just north of the U.S. Capitol. By early 2008, private developers will have invested $1.5 billion and broken ground on more than 4.5 million square feet of office, residential, hotel, and retail space within NoMa. In total, over 20 million square feet of new development is planned for the area over the next 15 years, including:
· 8,000 apartments and condominiums
· 1,200 hotel rooms
· 10 million sf of office
· 750,000 sf of retail

The BID has developed several resources that help bring to life the vision for the neighborhood.
· The NoMa video provides a short, three minute aerial tour of the new neighborhood.
· The Development Map can be printed and provides an overview of NoMa’s development pipeline.
· The NoMa PowerPoint presentation summarizes the BID’s accomplishments, the development vision and project specific information.

NoMa’s rapid development is complemented by the District’s infrastructure investment of nearly $8 million in 2007-08 to fund streets and streetscape improvements including brick sidewalks, Washington historic-style globe lighting, granite curbs and gutters, traffic signals and pedestrian safety measures. The Office of Planning’s NoMa Plan completed in October 2006, proposed over $30 million in infrastructure improvements and identified areas for public art installation and linear parks on 1st Street and K Street. The BID is actively working with the City to coordinate these exciting investments.

NoMa’s renaissance is not only building a new neighborhood in the City, but providing a wealth of new jobs for area residents and new tax revenue for the City. NoMa will generate:
· 28,000 construction jobs
· 41,000 permanent job
· $6 billion in new District taxes over 10 years
· Brings 12,000 new residents to the City
