NoMa Notes: We are Thankful for You!

Winter Wonder in NoMa

The holidays are just around the corner, and this winter will be like none we’ve experienced before. As we continue to practice social distancing and limit travel to stay safe, it’s important we seek out ways to stay connected and lift each other’s spirits!
The NoMa BID is partnering with The h3 Project, Little Friends of Peace, The Father McKenna Center and Perry School to provide opportunities to help neighbors in need this holiday season. Please take a moment to see how you can serve or donate to these local groups:
> The h3 Project – Purchase warm clothing and food for local persons experiencing homelessness.
> Little Friends of Peace – Donate to create Peace Circles for local children and families.
>The Father McKenna Center – Volunteer in their food pantry or donate to help neighbors in need.
> Perry School – Purchase toys and games from wish lists created by local families.
And to help spread more holiday cheer, join our “Winter Wonder in NoMa” virtual celebrations on social media. Make sure you follow us on Facebook and Instagram to join our festive online competitions and games dreamed up by the creative geniuses at NoMa business Brllnt! More details to come!

Welcome LaLuxe Dental!

We’re very excited to welcome Dr. Fagan and her new dental practice, LaLuxe Dental, to NoMa. Located at 1050 First Street NE, Suite 101, LaLuxe is a state-of-the-art dental practice. During these challenging times, their team is taking extraordinary precautions to allow you to receive dental care as safely and efficiently as possible. These precautions include pre-screening, contact-free temperature checks, restrictions to office entry, facial coverings and much more.
Check them out on Facebook or Instagram, and if you’re looking for a new (and very local) dentist, they are now taking reservations!
Outdoors is Better than Indoors

Mayor Bowser has announced adjustments taking place on Wednesday, November 25th to help us flatten the curve and keep our community safe during this nationwide surge in coronavirus cases. These adjustments include:
> Limiting indoor gatherings to 10 people (down from 50)
> Limiting outdoor gatherings (except worship services) to 25 (down from 50)
> Suspending group indoor exercise classes
> Limiting outdoor workout classes to 25 people; Individual workouts still allowed
> Suspending alcohol sales at restaurants at 10PM; Dining allowed until midnight
> Capping indoor worship services at 50 people, or 25% capacity, whichever is lower
> Encouraging all non-essential, non-retail business employees to telework
> Lowering restaurant capacity from 50% to 25% on December 14.
To help you make plans and adhere to DC’s revised guidelines, consider dining outside at the following NoMa restaurants which all offer socially distant, outdoor seating with space heaters to keep you warm:
