For more than a decade, the NoMa BID has been advocating for a new Metro entrance at NoMa-Gallaudet Station on Third Street NE. This much-needed new entrance will:
- Enhance accessibility to popular destinations like Union Market and Gallaudet University
- Significantly reduce walking times
- Provide a safer and more convenient route for Metro riders
- Alleviate congestion
- Promote pedestrian-friendly infrastructure
Construction is expected to begin in 2028.
As Metro ridership continues to rebound and grow in the coming years, transit investments like this are crucial for sustainable urban, mixed-use communities like NoMa to continue to thrive.
