NoMa Courtside Brings Pop-Up Sports and Free Community Fun to NoMa

This September, NoMa is getting in the game with NoMa Courtside, a pop-up sports court open for four days of play, competition, and community. The temporary sports experience will take over First & N Street NE on September 5, 6, 12 and 13 from 12–4 PM.

No matter your skill level, there will be something to try. NoMa Courtside will feature opportunities to play basketball, futsal and lawn games, with a mix of open play and organized games throughout each day. Whether you want to jump into a game, test your skills, or simply stop by and see what’s happening, everyone is invited to get in the game.

FREE Community Day: Saturday, September 12

The fun gets even bigger on Saturday, September 12, when NoMa Courtside hosts a special FREE Community Day from 12–4 p.m.

The afternoon will feature competitions with prizes, free swag, free hydration and healthy snacks, plus plenty of opportunities to play and connect with fellow NoMa neighbors. Come for a game, stay for the fun, and cheer on the competition.

NoMa Courtside is all about creating a welcoming, active space where the community can play, compete and connect. So grab a friend, bring your game, and head to First & N Street NE this September. Special thanks to DC’s Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice (DMPSJ) which is providing funding for this project through its FY26 Safe Commercial Corridors Grant Program.
