The Metropolitan Beer Trail is back for its second year with new prizes, new participating locations, and even more fun! The (new!) Metropolitan Beer Trail Passport will be available starting Thursday, April 14 and can be completed on your own time and at your own pace.
DC’s Metropolitan Beer Trail links 11 of the District’s most popular brew pubs and bars. Each location is walkable or bikeable from the Metropolitan Branch Trail, which stretches from Union Station northward through the neighborhoods of NoMa, Eckington, and Brookland. From fruity to frothy, heady to hoppy, the 11 Metropolitan Beer Trail bars and breweries have the perfect brew to treat your tastes. “Hop” around to the 11 participating locations, enjoy the outdoors, and all that the Metropolitan Branch Trail has to offer.

Andy’s Pizza & Beer Hall is located in the back of Streets Market NoMa is a 150-seat restaurant with a 70-seat outdoor patio. A 40-foot bar, multiple event spaces, and world-championship pizza make this a place you can kick back and enjoy happy hour.

Crooked Run’s DC taproom and restaurant is located in the Union Market neighborhood. The bright, airy 3200 square foot space features all of their beers, ciders, seltzers, and natural wines, paired with pizza and sandwiches from Pizza Serata, a Michelin Star award-winning chef Chris Morgan, and international pizza czar Anthony Falco. In addition to the beautiful, modern taproom, their DC spot opens up in the summer to shaded outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome outside on the patio.

The Highbinder Bar is a themed bar located adjacent to the lobby of the Alamo Drafthouse DC. Sit at the beautiful marble bar top, in one of the Italian leather banquets, or enjoy the outdoors on the patio. On nice days, nanowall sliding doors allow The Highbinder to easily transform into an indoor/outdoor space. The Highbinder will have 32 draft beers, many local, and a specially curated spy-theme cocktail list utilizing various local distilleries. Right Proper Brewing Co.’s Tasting Room in Northeast, DC is open for pours on the weekends. Three picnic tables on the patio and three tables inside, all spread out in accordance with the latest DC COVID-19 mandates. Our core beers and latest offerings are all offered through flights, glasses, or cans, bottles and growlers to go. The cozy space is filled with reclaimed cherry wood, a slightly disturbing chalk art mural and a view into the brewery.

How do I download the passport?
Use the form at the top of the page to sign up for your passport. Your passport will be instantly texted and emailed to you.
How do I check in to each bar?
Once you’ve signed up for your passport, you can check in to bars using your location! To check in and count towards your prize at a participating location, make sure that your location services are turned on to check in via GPS. Once you are at the participating bar, you should be prompted to check in.
To redeem available offers or discounts, simply present your phone to the attendant or staff member to redeem.
How often can I check in to each bar?
You can check in to each bar once per day. New this year, you are able to repeat visits to your favorite bars and earn points!
What is the prize?
For the 2023 Metropolitan Beer Trail, you have options when it comes to your prize! Check in to each location to earn points. Points can be redeemed for a koozie (400 points), beanie (700 points), and/or a 2023 Commemorative Metropolitan Beer Trail t-shirt (1500 points).
But wait – there’s more! The person with the most prizes at the end of the 2023 Metropolitan Beer Trail Season will be crowned the “MBT MVP” and receive a $25 gift card to each participating location: a total of 11 gift cards with an overall prize value of $275!
How do I redeem my prize?
With every check in via GPS, you’ll earn points. You can redeem your points for different prize levels. Fill out the form to order your prize, and the prize will be shipped to you.
How will I receive my prize?
To receive your prize, you will need to follow the steps in the text message to fill out your mailing information. Prizes are shipped within 4-6 weeks.
