History of the Metropolitan Beer Trail

The Metropolitan Beer Trail launched in 2022, inspired by metrobar, a founding partner. The metrobar team noticed an increase in patrons riding and walking to multiple breweries and bars along the trail, and saw an opportunity to collaborate with their MBT neighbors. The concept was then brought to the NoMa BID, which partnered with metrobar to formalize the experience, and the Metropolitan Beer Trail was born.

The Dew Drop Inn
The Dew Drop Inn name was inspired by the countless roadside Dew Drop Inn’s across America. Nice & Easy
Experience relaxation at Nice 'n Easy, featuring live music every weekend and exciting pool tournaments.
Red Bear Brewing Co.
Red Bear’s story is steeped in Legend and Wonder! It begins with 3 fearless pioneers setting off from the emerald city of Seattle, on their greatest adventure yet. They set off to create a place of community in our nation’s capital of Washington. The city calls out, yearning for craft beer and an inviting place to chill. A brewery of the highest quality is what the city needs, where the determined focus of the east coast meets the open casual style of the west coast!
Right Proper Brewing Co., Right Proper Kitchen, Right Proper Eckington (coming soon)
Right Proper has 3 locations on the beer trail this year. Their Tasting Room in Northeast DC is open Wednesday through Sunday, pouring our core beers and latest offerings through flights and glasses, or cans, bottles, and growlers to go. This cozy space is filled with reclaimed cherry wood, a slightly disturbing but delightful chalk art mural, and a view into the brewery. The patio offers plenty of outdoor gathering space.
Wunder Garten
Wunder Garten, inspired by the beer gardens of Germany, opened in 2015 as a pop-up beer garden that quickly became a cornerstone of the North of Massachusetts (NoMa) neighborhood. A community gathering place for friends and family, Wunder Garten has a carefully curated selection of German and craft beers and a well-regarded wine and liquor selection.
