In 2019, the NoMa BID published an open letter related to underpass encampments in the neighborhood. Our thinking and approach in this space has evolved to include daily outreach support to unhoused individuals in NoMa as part of our core services.

In 2020, the NoMa BID began working with the h3 Project, to provide these services. The h3 Project, led by Dr. Ami Angell, works seven days a week to develop individualized action plans, seek temporary and permanent housing placements, and connect unhoused persons to additional services and opportunities.
