Today is the official launch of the Smarter DC Challenge, the citywide initiative for businesses and nonprofit organizations to create their own sustainability programs and participate in a spirited challenge.
Endorsed by Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Smarter DC Challenge was created as a key program to provide opportunities for the District’s workplaces and buildings to participate in sustainability efforts and thus meet the mayor’s goal to become the leading sustainable and resilient city.
Hosted at Three Constitution Square in NoMa, the event drew more than 185 attendees including senior Bowser administration officials, leaders from the business and nonprofit communities and executives from organizations already signed on to the challenge.
